Serial I/O working via FTDI :) - now with bluetooth...

Post by waltermixxx »

I'm very happy to say,

I have serial working on my OSI Superboard II/C1P :)
i was having issues using the serial port, so I instead soldered in a few header pins,
so I can tap the serial in and out from the uart, and it works great.

Now I can save files off to Teraterm, and then re-load them via Teraterm.
Very happy with that. Steve Gray was kind enough to give me one of those 32K ram expansion
boards that plugs into the 40 PIN J1 on the superboard. I have to order my parts from DIGIKEY,
and get that built for both Steve and I, :)

Just an update. :)

Next is Bluetooth connection to my laptop and Teraterm I have a few of those HC05 bluetooth modules,
and I am currently using one on my JAIR8080 (Josh Bensadon's all in 1 solution for trouble shooting S100 systems.)

I will report back when i have blue tooth working :)

So the next natural step was to mod the serial port to 9600 baud.
that part was easy. :)

The next step after making sure that worked, was using an HC-05 Bluetooth module to be able to save and load programs
wirelessly.... that too was easy... :)

if you look at the picture you can just make out a male jumper soldered to Pin 4 of J3. :)
(but you cannot see the yellow insulator) :) so Pin 4 on J3 :)

Cheers. :) hope this helps.
