I recently purchased 3 near new OSI Sams Manuals.
I have spent the last 3 days scanning two of them in. For those of you tired of paging back and forth while reading the schematics, I have stitched all the multi-page graphics into a single page and included them in the PDF. These were scanned @ 600 dpi.
Here is the C1P Manual: http://www.jeffferguson.ca/OSI/Manuals/C1P_Sams.zip
Here is the C4P Manual: http://www.jeffferguson.ca/OSI/Manuals/C4P_Sams.zip
Dave, please host these files on your server.

Re: NEW SAMS SCANS
Jeff, this is awesome. The few times I've scanned documents with foldouts (like the Hazeltine 15xx service manual) I just took them to kinko's.
Can you share you scanning and stitching technique here? How did you scan, what type of scanner and resolution, what tools to process images, stitch together images, and create PDFs, etc.
I have another SAM's manual that I need to scan (for various other OSI boards).

Re: NEW SAMS SCANS
I have the PDFs and am doing a bit of processing on them (OCR and downsampling). I will post both 600-dpi and 300-dpi versions on the site.

Re: NEW SAMS SCANS
Hi Dave,
Nothing really special, rather brute force if you ask me. I scanned each page with my EPSON Pixma MP490 at 600 dpi. I opened each scan in Photoshop and corrected Brightness and Contrast and then straightened each image. I then hand-stitched each multiple-page set.

Re: NEW SAMS SCANS
I added 300dpi and 600dpi versions of the scans to the server, OCR, so they are searchable. Thanks, Jeff!

Re: NEW SAMS SCANS
It hasn't been posted yet. I am still stitching things together. Is there a part you need? I can send you that part.
