I have a C8DF with 2 8” Siemens drives connected using a daisy-chain radial configuration: single ribbon cable with A and B connectors. One drive is buggy. I’d like to use the working drive as a single drive with the system. One the solo drive, I’ve set the drive logic board jumper and terminating resistor correctly and attached the A connector to the drive. I leave the B connector open (not connected). For some reason, the system does not seem to be communicating with the solo drive. Do I need to somehow terminate the B connector on the cable? This is in the category of no big deal but I’m surprised that connecting the DF cable to just an A drive results in failure.
Any thoughts?
Why won’t DF work with just one drive
