No, as you found out 7D is not good. Change it 8C, or to 4C to move the text up one line as well as one position to the left.

One thing I’ve noticed now with the lcd is on power up it sometimes has trouble syncing when all the characters are on the screen. Once you go to the prompt it’s locked on good. I’m wondering if the brightness setting has an effect on it. It’s hard to tell but when I dim it down it’s seems to be a little better. But with the sacrifice of brightness.

Thought I would post update on the "portable" project...

Getting close to completion. Just have the Micro cassette conversion and mounting plastics to do, the power management and battery packs, the lids, and some details work and it should be done (assuming everything remains in working order!)...

The hinge was a fun challenge to sort out. Each hinge piece slides in froth e side and interlocks with the display so it's easy to remove and install the display without the need for a screwdriver. the video cable runs through the tube and comes out the center piece.

Are those hinges resin printed? They look almost like injection moulded they're that smooth.

FDM 3d printed. And that’s the “standard” .2 layer height. I’ll print the final at .08 high quality mode. The Bambu X1 is an amazing printer!

Here's a pic of the high quality .08 layer height with a .4 nozzle. This is what I will print the final parts in.
The printer also has a .2 nozzle and can go to a .06 layer height. With that one it's comparable to resin print/injection mold but the print times are insanely long.

Even with the .4 @ .08 this part which is the bottom base front right section about 8" x 7" takes 7 hours to print.

The print volume on this printer is about 10". Thats the drawback for something like like this. I am having to split it up into 4 quarters since it is about 14" wide and 16" deep. There's a 20" printer thats affordable but I don't think it can come close to the print quality and I have no more room for a huge printer I will rarely use!

That's incredibly good quality for a normal extrusion type printer, makes my old beater of a printer look positively archaic!!
