Challenger 4P Case

I'm in the process of creating a Challenger 1P/4P reproduction. For details check out my blog on Hackaday: https://hackaday.io/project/186956-osi- ... production.

I've waffled a bit on what flavor of case to make but have kind of settled on the 4P style with the wooden sides. In fact I have a beautiful piece of walnut that I hope to use.

There are lots of photos available online but they don't give any indication of the case dimensions, so I'm hoping there is someone on this forum that has a 4P and a little bit of time to help me out. I don't need much. A good "straight on" picture of the side panel with a ruler in frame would be a big help. Also the distance between the the side panels (inside dimensions) would be great. That's about it.

Any help appreciated.

Using Steve's measurements I was able to model the case parts. I will be making the wooden sides from Walnut, laser cut the inside support pieces from plywood, and I will 3D print the case skin. Thanks Steve for taking the time to measure, and Dave for pointing me in the right direction.

I finished "skinning" the Challenger 4P frame. Kudos to Steve Gray for his accurate measurements and Dave for making a very faithful reproduction keyboard.

My Challenger 4P project is nearing completion. I’m happy with the 3D printed skin but recently found out about a service, LaserBoost, that elegantly combines sheet metal laser cutting with bending. As a result l have ordered a second skin made with 18 gauge steel. Detail can be found in this Hackaday log:

Pretty damn good IMHO. LaserBoost did an incredible job.

I ended up getting my sheet metal skin powder coated at a local shop. Here is what it looks like now.
